Portrait Drawing and Painting with Allan Ramsay

This course will provide students with an understanding of the methods, techniques and ways of looking needed to create a likeness. The course runs for six weeks. The first half will focus on drawing and the second half will focus on painting.

Suitable for all levels including beginners.

Basic drawing and painting materials including acrylic paint, paper and canvas will be provided. Please bring your own acrylic paint brushes. You are welcome to bring any additional materials that you would like to use.

*Please note, oil painting will not be covered in this course.

He has held portrait drawing and painting classes at The National Portrait Gallery, London, Glasgow Museums and Galleries, Glasgow School of Art and Wimbledon School of Art. He has completed portrait commissions for numerous institutions including the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge and The National Portrait Gallery, London. Allan holds a studio at Phoenix Art Space.
