Come and be welcomed into dance community! The next Roots Fusion night is on Saturday, April 5th, from 7PM to 10PM at the Quimper Grange in Port Townsend, WA.
7:00PM - 9:15PM Three fusion DJ's will have you up and on your feet as we drop into the evening.
9:15PM - 10PM Microfusion - we will sloooow the dancing down and have the opportunity to get into some sweet grooves together. Bring your microfusion song requests!
$7-$15 sliding scale. NOTAFLOF. You do not have to bring a partner to Roots Fusion - we are happy to dance with beginners and experienced dancers alike. Music is contemporary and includes an assortment of tempos for fusion and micro-fusion partnering. Admission is $7-14 by sliding scale.
FUSION DANCE is a delightful and creative form of partner dance where you and your partner each bring the dance styles you know (swing, tango, ballroom, modern, etc.) to a song so that the two of you can collaborate on creating movement in a conversation with the music. Please ask us if you have questions. We love beginners.
BENEFIT: Roots Fusion is an all-volunteer collaboration. Each month between 10% and 25% of net proceeds are donated to a worthy non-political cause. March benefitted the Peninsula Humane Society.
ROOTS FUSION offers a supportive and consensual fusion and micro-fusion dance space in which to explore the co-creation of movement to contemporary music, and meet new people. CONSENT: Fusion is a partnered dance style that can range from open hand hold to close embrace. Please be mindful of obtaining clear verbal consent when asking someone to dance, and before dancing in close embrace. No high lifts are allowed. Please do not engage in low lifts without express consent. Consent in partner dancing can be complex to navigate. More guidelines can be found on our website at www.fusioninclusion.org. Please do not hesitate to bring any unwelcome behavior to the attention of the staff.
FOOTWEAR: Please wear dance shoes or other clean, non-scuffing footwear.
PARKING: The Quimper Grange is located in a residential neighborhood. Please carpool if you can. Be careful not to block driveways when you park. Please be respectful of our neighbors and keep the noise down outside. SEE YOU SOON!
