About this Event
Join us for a Community Information Evening to hear about the marine restoration work happening in Port Phillip Bay (VIC).
We invite you to hear what The Nature Conservancy Australia (TNC) has planned for ongoing marine restoration in Port Phillip Bay. Our panel of conservation experts from TNC's Seascapes team will provide an update on the exciting projects happening in Port Phillip Bay, including:
- The past decade of vital marine restoration work
- The upcoming shellfish reef restoration project in partnership with the Port of Melbourne - a world-first attempt at remediating dredge spoil grounds by creating new habitat and returning a lost ecosystem type to the area!
- The planting of hundreds of thousands of baby kelp into urchin barrens - this is a first-of-its-kind project in Victoria that is already seeing huge success
Join us to hear what's happening underwater and to have your questions answered!
Admission is free and light refreshments and nibbles will be provided.
RSVP is essential as spaces are limited. Reserve your spot today.
