As part of ANTiPODE's mission to connect Seattle with cities around the world, we are building a one-night bridge to Bushehr—a vibrant port city on the Persian Gulf, where rhythmic waves meet communal poetry.
There will be live folk music, storytelling, and two talks by guest experts on regional music and architecture.
Zahra Rasti—Assistant Teaching Professor of Architecture at the University of Washington and founder of VOICE (Visual Outputs for Inclusive Change and Environments), a nonprofit initiative focused on mapping for social justice—will examine how the spaces between home and the waterfront shape everyday life in two coastal cities: Seattle and Bandar-e Deylam, a port city in Bushehr Province.

Bushehri musicians based in US will then introduce the region's rich musical traditions and immerse us in Bushehr's unique soundscape.

We'll close the evening with live folk music and storytelling, so you can take a small piece of Bushehr home.
