The Port City Blues Society’s legendary weekly blues jam is one of the longest running blues jams in the region. Held every Wednesday night in historic downtown Pine Bluff, this event serves to preserve and celebrate the rich heritage of authentic delta blues that Pine Bluff and Jefferson County are known for.
The jam is held every Wednesday night at RJ’s Sports Grill & Bar, located at 128 S. Main Street, right at 2nd & Main in downtown Pine Bluff. Doors open at 7 PM and the music runs from 8–11 PM. The event is free, open to the public and built around participation. Any musician—local, regional, or traveling—can get on stage and play.
The Port City Blues Players anchor the night as the official house band. Each night features a rotating collective of regional guitarists, bassists, keyboardists, drummers, vocalists and others of various experience levels. The jam is intentionally relaxed and inclusive.
RJ's is a casual, family-friendly, and completely smoke-free venue with food and bar service. RJ’s has become known throughout the delta for hosting the Wednesday blues jam and monthly blues concerts, typically held on the first Saturday of each month.
Port City Blues Society is a member‑supported non-profit organization founded in 2015 to “promote, perpetuate and advance the culture and tradition of blues as an art form indigenous to the United States. The society functions as one of the most vibrant grassroots blues communities in the region, sustaining live music in a city with historic blues roots.

Delta blues preservation — educating the public and supporting blues culture in Pine Bluff, Jefferson County and the State of Arkansas.
Live performance support — encouraging local, regional, and national blues artists through concerts, jams, and festival participation.
