Το πρώτο POP UP Solo Dance Festival στην Αθήνα είναι ένα καινοτόμο φεστιβάλ χορού που δίνει βήμα στη μοναδικότητα των δημιουργών/performer και της προσωπικής τους έκφρασης. Το φεστιβάλ θα περιλαμβάνει δύο παραστάσεις, στις οποίες θα παρουσιαστούν τέσσερα solo performances, καθώς και εργαστήρια χορού που θα προσφέρουν στο κοινό την ευκαιρία να εξερευνήσει σε βάθος την κίνηση και να εμπλουτίσει την κινητική του γλώσσα.
Ο βασικός στόχος του φεστιβάλ είναι να αναδείξει την ανθρώπινη μοναδικότητα μέσω της ατομικής δημιουργίας και της προσωπικής έκφρασης. Οι performers καλούνται να δημιουργήσουν και να εκφραστούν μέσα από τα δικά τους σώματα και τις δικές τουσ ερμηνείες, προσφέροντας έτσι μια αληθινή και αυθεντική ματιά στη δύναμη του χορού.
Η θεματική του φεστιβάλ για αυτή την πρώτη διοργάνωση είναι "A matter of passion", εξετάζοντας τη σχέση της ανθρώπινης υπόστασης και δημιουργίας με το πάθος και τις πολλαπλές εκφάνσεις του. Τι σημαίνει να βιώνεις ένα πάθος, να πάσχεις από αυτό, να το ακολουθείς, και πώς αυτό μπορεί να διαμορφώνει τις κινητικές και συναισθηματικές εκφράσεις του σώματος; Με αφορμή αυτή τη θεματική, το φεστιβάλ επιδιώκει να δημιουργήσει μια πλατφόρμα όπου τα άτομα που δημιουργούν να μοιραστούν και να εξετάσουν τις προσωπικές τους διαδρομές και αντιφάσεις γύρω από την έννοια του πάθους.
Το φεστιβάλ φιλοδοξεί να θεμελιώσει έναν νέο θεσμό στην πόλη, ο οποίος θα στηρίξει και θα ενισχύσει τη δημιουργικότητα της χορευτικής κοινότητας μέσω της αυτο-δημιουργίας και αυτο-έκφρασης, ενώ ταυτόχρονα θα ανοίξει το διάλογο για τις σημαντικές θεματικές που αφορούν τον σύγχρονο χορό και τη μοναδικότητα του κάθε ατόμου μέσα στην τέχνη.

The first POP UP Solo Dance Festival in Athens is an innovative dance festival that brings on stage the uniqueness of each creator/dancer and their personal expression. The festival will include two shows, in which four solo performances will be presented, as well as accompanying dance workshops that will provide the audience with the opportunity to explore movement and enrich their kinetic language.
The main goal of the festival is to highlight the uniqueness of each human, through individual creation and personal expression. The dancers are invited to create and express themselves through their own bodies and performances, thus offering a true and authentic look at the intimate power of dance.
The theme of the festival for this first event is "A matter of passion", examining the relationship of human existence and creation with passion and its multiple manifestations. What does it mean to experience a passion, to suffer from it, to follow it, and how can this shape the kinetic and emotional expressions of the body? On the occasion of this theme, the festival seeks to serve as a platform where the creators can share and examine their personal relation and contradictions around the concept of passion.
The festival aspires to establish a new and recurring creative outlet for the city, which will support and enhance the creativity of the dance community through self-creation and self-expression, while at the same time opening the dialogue on important themes concerning contemporary dance and the uniqueness of each individual within the arts.
