The ‘Sustainable’ Breakfast

For 3 years, our Pop-up Breakfasts at locally-loved and award-winning Japanese restaurant, Moshimo, have been a yearly staple of the Brighton Chamber events calendar – and we’re back for another Pop-up Breakfast with a difference on 11 July.

Whilst we chat over a spread of sustainably sourced Japanese breakfast platters, it seemed only fitting to hear from somebody equally as passionate about sustaining the world we live in.

Dean Spears is the Head of Blue Natural Capital for Sussex Bay. Originally a Brummie boy, Dean is a geographer who began his career measuring peat bog samples in Aberystwyth. He’s now part of Sussex Bay, a movement (launching in June) to raise £50million by 2050 to accelerate the local seascape recovery along 100 miles of the Sussex coastline, whilst co-producing brand-new ocean research.

From growing up in poverty, to his career working across tech, education, finance, and local government; we’ll hear about the journey Dean took to stand in front of us at Moshimo, and how we can all think about our own relationships with nature, equality and kind leadership.

What's the refund policy? Places are limited, and events are usually oversubscribed. Please give two working days’ notice via email for a refund* or you’ll be required to pay for your place in full.

Can I attend if I am not a member of the Chamber? If you have never been a member of the Chamber you can book and join as a guest at two of our events (just one Chamber Breakfast). After this, you will need to join the Chamber to enjoy the benefits of membership. If you'd like to join the Chamber you can find out more on our website.
