POP-UP Birding from the Bench at Rock Creek Park Golf Course

Join DC Bird Alliance for Birding from the Bench at Rock Creek Park Golf Course, a relaxed and accessible way to enjoy birds in one of DC’s most scenic green spaces.

This walk will take place on and adjacent to the golf course. All participants are required to complete their own National Links Trust Online Participation Waiver, .

We’ll meet at the clubhouse and spend most of our time seated at the picnic tables, observing birds as they move across the landscape. This format allows for a slower, more intentional birding experience, with time to watch, listen, and connect without the need to cover distance.

You’re welcome to bring a lawn chair or blanket if you’d prefer to sit comfortably on the grass or create your own viewing spot.

For those who are interested, we will also offer short, optional breakout walks to explore additional areas of the property, depending on guide availability.

Whether you prefer to stay seated or join a short walk, this experience is designed to meet people where they are and create space to enjoy birds and community.

♿ Wheelchair Access: Seated birding area is accessible; walking routes are not accessible due to uneven terrain, inclines, and exposed roots
🚻 Restrooms: Available at the clubhouse

Optional walking routes may include uneven ground, inclines, and exposed roots. Participation in these walks is not required to enjoy the experience.
