scratch—from the perfect pie dough to tasty glazes. Whether you're a beginner or a frequent baker, this class guides you through the process of making this nostalgic pastry while keeping the atmosphere creative and fun.

What You Will Learn
- Flaky Dough Techniques & Gluten Management: Understand the science of fat temperature and moisture control, learning how to achieve a marbled, "shingled" pie dough. Master the delicate balance of hydrating flour without overworking it, ensuring a tender crust rather than a tough one.
- Artisanal Fillings: We’ll demo and prepare two signature fillings: Classic Cinnamon Sugar, and Strawberry Cream Cheese.
- The Finishing Touch: Learn to mix and flavor glazes including Lemon, Vanilla, and Strawberry.
- Assembly & Technique: Practice professional rolling, cutting, and crimping techniques to ensure your pastries look as good as they taste.
Class Schedule
- Introduction (15 mins): Welcome, instructor introduction, and access to snacks and beverages. Discussion of pop-tarts, their versatility, and main components.
- The Pie Dough Prep (40 mins): A discussion and demo of the dough-making process, focusing on fat integration and proper chilling techniques, while students follow along and make their own small batch of pie dough.
- Filling Preparation Demonstration (20 mins): A detailed demonstration of preparing two classic pop-tart fillings: strawberry and cinnamon sugar.
- Glaze Preparation Demonstration (15 minutes): A demonstration of pop-tart glaze preparation and how to make three flavors from one batch of glaze.
- Break (10 mins): Leg stretch and beverage refills at the refreshment station.
- Shaping & Finishing (30 mins): Hands-on assembly where participants roll, fill, and seal three different flavors of pop-tarts.
- Topping & Tasting (20 mins): Students assist in glazing and topping pop-tarts, followed by a tasting of each of the three flavors.
Amenities Included
- Refreshments: Access to a snack counter including house-made non-alcoholic drinks, charcuterie and fruit skewers, a dessert, and a Keurig coffee station.
- Tools & Equipment: Class aprons and all necessary baking tools needed to prepare this dessert in class.
- Recipes: Every student receives the recipes used in class so this delicious dessert can be recreated at home.
- Take Home Treats: You’ll assemble and take home 3 custom Pop-Tarts along with extra portion cups of glaze to bake and finish them at home.
Notes:
- Tickets are NON-REFUNDABLE! If you are unable to attend the class, you may transfer the ticket to another person. Tickets are not transferable to another class.
- Doors will open 10 minutes before listed class start time. Students wishing to grab seats together are encouraged to arrive when doors open, otherwise we cannot guarantee reserved seating regardless if tickets were purchased together or not.
