Join us for the first Poor Mouth Writers' Night of 2026! Kicking things off in the best possible way this year with the poetry of Abigail Kirby Conklin. As always, a portion of the evening will be reserved for a community open mic, so please feel free to bring something to share, and remember, we're multi-genre, so whatever you got, we wanna hear it! In the meantime, please read about January's featured reader below:Abigail Kirby Conklin (she/her/hers) is an educator and writer currently based in Toronto, Ontario, where she works in decolonial training, learning, and programming. She is the author of the chapbooks Triage (Duck Lake Books, 2020), and Self-Animal Inventory (Red Ogre Review, 2025). She has also written a variety of other work that can be found with, amongst other places, Querencia Press, the Tule Review, the Sugar House Review, the Elevation Review, the Lampeter Review, and Wild Roof Journal.
