Pongal and Magh Bihu : A warm celebration of harvest tradition and connection
Schedule

In many parts of India, Magh Bihu and Pongal mark abundance, gratitude, and new beginnings. Traditionally, these festivals were about community—people gathering, sharing food, stories, and warmth. Today, many of us who live away from our hometown celebrate quietly or not at all, despite longing for that sense of togetherness.
I’m hosting this gathering because I’m a single woman myself, and I understand how difficult it can be to build meaningful social connections beyond family and work. This event is an attempt to recreate a simple, heartfelt festive space—calm, inclusive, and pressure-free.
This is not a large celebration or a formal cultural program. It’s a small, curated circle to experience the spirit of harvest festivals in a relaxed and human way.
What to Expect
- A small gathering (limited seats) to keep conversations comfortable and personal
- A brief introduction to the meaning and symbolism of Magh Bihu & Pongal
- Shared festive moments centred around gratitude, harvest, and tradition
- Open, unhurried conversations in a warm setting
- No loud music or stage performances—just connection
✨ You’re welcome to come dressed in ethnic or traditional wear if you’d like—it’s completely optional and meant to add to the festive spirit, not formality.
Who This Is For
- People who value Indian traditions and their deeper meaning
- Those celebrating away from family or community
- Single professionals, solo city dwellers, or anyone seeking gentle social connection
- Individuals who prefer thoughtful, intimate gatherings over crowded events
What This Is NOT
- ❌ Not a religious ceremony
- ❌ Not a networking or business meetup
- ❌ Not a dating event
- ❌ Not a loud or commercial celebration
Just a simple pause to honour harvest, gratitude, and togetherness.
Why There Is a Fee
A nominal fee helps keep the gathering intentional and well-curated, and supports basic arrangements. This helps maintain a respectful and comfortable space for everyone.
If celebrating Magh Bihu & Pongal with warmth, simplicity, and meaningful company resonates with you, you’re welcome to join.
Seats are limited to preserve the spirit of the gathering 🌾✨
