The composition I wrote as the first outcome of the postdoctoral project "PolyMatters" focusing on polyrhythmic structures in different musical areas (Norwegian folk, in this case) is going to be premiered in Helsinki by Australian-born violist and singer Mariette Reefman, who will push the boundaries of viola playing into singing and foot-tapping several rhythmic and melodic layers at the same time! This brave musician will also perform a daring programme featuring her own arrangements and impovisations, as well as baroque and other contemporary pieces: a very unusual Master's recital, which you should absolutely check out.
