Instructor: Shelby Dawn SmithMake a bold statement with handmade polymer clay earrings! In this workshop, participants learn how to use polymer clay to create colourful, funky earrings. Polymer clay is incredibly lightweight, making it perfect for large earrings that won’t weigh your ears down. Choose from a variety of cookie-cutter shapes, or come up with your own designs. You’ll learn how to make a few fun patterns with the clay — like marbled and polka-dot — and experiment with different textures using texture rollers and other tools.
After your designs are baked in the oven for 15 minutes, you will learn how to use jump rings to attach your pieces and create dangling earrings. You will be able to make three (3) pairs of earrings during this workshop. Both gold and silver toned metal (stainless steel, nickel-free) fixings are available to suit your preference.
This workshop will take place on Saturday, April 25 from 1-4pm at the Douglas Family Art Centre.
The cost to register is $45 +HST, or $40.50 +HST for MUSE members.
Registration and payment are required to reserve your space in this class, and can be completed in-person or online. This workshop is intended for adults and youth aged 12+. Limited to 16 participants. All materials are supplied.
