Polls & Back | 2026 Central Iowa General Election Rideshare

Need a ride to vote? Polls & Back is organizing free, community-powered transportation for Iowa voters during early voting and on Election Day.
Our goal is simple: help remove transportation as a barrier to the ballot.
Riders can request help getting:
From home to their polling place
From their polling place back home
To an early in-person voting location
Connected with a volunteer driver serving their area
Polls & Back is a nonpartisan community service. You will never be asked who you support, how you plan to vote, or how you voted. Rides are provided without regard to political affiliation, candidate preference, identity, or viewpoint.
What riders should know:
- Rides are provided by approved volunteer drivers
- Requests are coordinated based on driver availability and service area
- Submitting a request does not guarantee that a ride will be available
- Riders should provide accurate pickup, timing, accessibility, and contact information
- Polls & Back provides transportation assistance only and cannot determine voter eligibility, polling locations, or ballot requirements
Whenever possible, submit your request early so coordinators have time to match you with an available volunteer.
📍 Service area: Iowa, beginning with the Des Moines metro and expanding wherever volunteers are available

Drivers, dispatchers, organizers, and community partners are also encouraged to get involved.
The ballot is personal. The ride can be collective.
