The summit will feature a variety of tents with experts, speakers, and organizations focused on pollinators, native plants, and creating habitat in residential and urban spaces. Visitors can stop by the Native Garden & Habitat Club tent for native plant seedling giveaways, all grown from seed by local volunteers to help you get started with your own pollinator garden. There will also be a Healthy Yards Ask-the-Experts tent for questions about native plants and pollinators, along with participation from the Southeastern Grasslands Institute, which is dedicated to restoring southern grasslands, and APSU providing native bee education. The Xerces Society will also be present to share information about protecting pollinators.
Throughout the day, attendees can enjoy guided wildflower walks through Rotary Park and learn about topics like choosing the right native plants, growing natives in containers, and supporting butterflies and caterpillars through host plants.
The summit is free and open to the public. Registration is not required but is appreciated to receive any weather updates or last-minute information at https://forms.gle/HzKSE3AhpHh3orTc6. While most activities are geared toward adults, the park will remain open for everyone to enjoy.
The summit is hosted by the APSU Center of Excellence for Field Biology, the Clarksville-Montgomery County Native Garden & Habitat Club, and Healthy Yards.
