Join us for this exciting concert featuring the Polish Duo:
Dominika Dancewicz, violin 🎻
Alina Klimaszewska, piano 🎹
The artists present the iconic “Myths” by Karol Szymanowski, featuring three musical fables inspired by the Greek mythology:
“The Spring of Arethusa”
“Narcissus”
“Dryads and Pan”
The colorful, imaginative score by Szymanowski, composed in 1915, achieved instant fame and admiration because of the innovative sound effects and technical demands it presents for both musicians. This iconic piece has been stimulating the imagination of generations of music lovers! Hear us perform it in the gorgeous interior of the Belin Chapel at Houston Christian University! 🎶
Alongside the “Myths” we will perform the epic Violin Sonata in A minor (1885) by Ignacy Paderewski. This piece, composed after experiencing a deep personal loss, is full of stormy, romantic gestures, and sweeping storytelling. 💔
This concert is FREE, but donations to the musicians will be accepted, and thoroughly appreciated.
