Data Centers: Building Common Ground
Data centers are the defining industry of Loudoun’s economy and, increasingly, a central subject of its public debate. This event brings both sides of that story into the same room: the economic and workforce impact the industry delivers and the partnerships forming between data center companies and the community around them.
The morning opens with a keynote from Jennifer Taylor, President and CEO of the Northern Virginia Technology Council, presenting the findings of NVTC’s 6th biennial report, The Impact of Data Centers on Virginia’s State and Local Economies.
A moderated panel will follow, bringing together industry, labor, education, and independent expertise to discuss workforce, energy, environmental stewardship, and what the industry’s continued growth means for quality of life in Loudoun. Panelists will take an honest look at both the benefits and the concerns that come with the industry’s growth.
Featured Panelists:
- Brett Burnette — Director, Development for CloudHQ
- Kirk Cameron — Founding and Managing Director, Virginia Tech Institute for Advanced Computing
- Danielle Nadler — Executive Director, Loudoun Education Foundation
- Don Slaiman — Director of Community Relations, IBEW Local 26
Join us for a candid, substantive conversation about how one of the region’s most consequential industries and the community around it can build common ground.
Directions: The event is located at the Belmont Country Club Clubhouse – use the front gate from Russell Branch Pkwy (across from Whole Foods shopping center) to enter the Country Club and let the security guard know that you’re attending the Chamber event. After entering the main gate, turn right at the roundabout and then follow the road up to the Manor/Clubhouse. Park wherever you would like. The event is in the upstairs ballroom.
