Mark your calendars Marshalltown! We are excited to announce that Marshalltown School Special Olympics is hosting their second annual Polar Plunge with Special Olympics Iowa on Friday May 1, 2026 at 1:30 PM. Lenihan Intermediate School has graciously offered to host the plunge again this year. If you don’t want to plunge, you are welcome to donate to an athlete of your choosing. Registration/check in for the event begins at 1:00 PM and costumes are encouraged! Students and adults that wish to plunge, will need to register on the website. Athletes are currently working on getting registered. A participant must raise $25 to plunge and there are incentives to raise more.
Students/parents/staff can join a team and we set the teams by buildings and want to see which group can raise the most!
If you aren’t with a school you can create your own community team and plunge with us. Raising money to “toss your boss” into the frigid water is also an option!
