It's time for the coolest fundraiser of the year (literally!) - The Polar Bear Plunge at The Lakes!
We are so excited to start 2026 off with a rewarding splash. ALL proceeds benefit adaptive recreation programs, which provide recreational and social opportunities for individuals with differentabilities.
There are two ways you can participate - as a Polar Bear (Taking the Plunge!) or as a Teddy Bear (Dry Supporter). Either way, you will get a cool long-sleeve T-shirt, hot beverages, yummy snacks and the warm fuzzies that come with giving to someone in need!

About:
Team Asa, a volunteer-run 501 (c) 3 and The Lakes of Tempe Community Activities committee have teamed up to present the coolest fundraising event - The Polar Bear Plunge at The Lakes. ALL proceeds benefit individuals with differentabilities, enabling them to participate in recreational and social activities. 2026 will be the 14th Plunge. Since the inaugural Plunge in 2012, more than $120,000 has been raised.
Team Asa provides financial scholarships to individuals, so they can participate in activities like Tempe Adaptive Recreation programs and social events, Buddy Bowling and more. We assist local school teachers and programs like adapted PE and specialty classes. Additionally, we support programs that provide opportunities to the special needs community like City of Tempe Special Olympics, The Centers for Habilitation, The ARC of Tempe and others. Last year, we were able to donate a piece of adaptive playground equipment to Tempe’s Clark Park, ensuring all abilities can play together and enjoy the newly renovated playground.
