The Kit: Each player receives a Pitch Black Build & Battle Box. This contains a 40-card ready-to-play deck, four Pitch Black booster packs, and one of four unique foil promo cards.
Deck Building: Players use the cards from their kit (plus basic Energy provided by the store) to construct a 40-card deck.
Gameplay: Matches are typically played with four Prize cards (instead of the usual six) and run for approximately 20–30 minutes. Most events consist of three Swiss rounds.
Prizes: Participation is the main focus, but stores typically award three additional booster packs to players who complete all rounds of the event.
