I night of spoken word musical wonder by the sea
About this Event

Poets Palace is returning to Brighton!
Come along for an evening of interwoven music and spoken-word in an open-mic setting for emerging acts, first-timers and headline performers. For our first event back in a long time, we're bringing 2 brilliant headliners and musicians.
Hosted for the first time by our new regional producer - Emma Bean!
Our open mic section will include an audience vote, with the winner getting a paid feature slot at our next event! Open mic sign up in advance via email or instagram DMs.

HEADLINERS
NB

NB is a multi-medium artist who grew up in rural Norfolk and like many queers, ran away to Brighton. They first took to poetry in college, when they couldn’t connect to the elite poetry syllabus. The medium became an outlet to help them decipher their intersectional perspective of the world. Their work explores fluctuation, the search for authenticity, our relationship with strangers and a non-binary relationship with the body.

After listening and sharing at open mics across Brighton NB was lucky to perform many headline sets, be published in zines and an upcoming book. Regrettably poetry took a backseat for the last few years, as they focused on acting and their punk band BEEF, but this gig is the start of their comeback!

ELLIE
Ell is a queer, neurodivergent creative, based in Brighton. Her work lives where vulnerability meets resistance- through raw, emotionally honest poetry, Ell explores mental health, identity, love, and loss. She writes with the belief that poetry can be a form of healing- a way to process pain, reclaim voice, and turn survival into something powerful. She invites the audience to slow down, feel deeply, and remember that even in the messiest parts of being alive, there is connection, and the possibility of healing.

MUSIC
Samuel foot on electric guitar + Jonah L. on sax!

🌱 About Poet's Palace:

Poet’s Palace is a platform that empowers spoken word artists to amplify their voices, connect with diverse audiences and inspire change through poetry.
We champion emerging talent by giving them the stages and resources they deserve. We’re building inclusive, collaborative communities across the UK—celebrating spoken word in all its power.

We recognise the importance of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Intersectionality in everything we do. Many of the artists we platform come from the Global Majority, LGBTQIA2+ and other underrepresented communities, and we know how systemic barriers can limit access to events like ours.
