Mary Ricketson and Meghan Harrison will visit City Lights for a poetry reading on Saturday, September 13th at 3:00pm. Mary will read from her latest poetry collection, Tall Flowers and Living Long, and Meghan from her first full-length manuscript, Worthy.
Mary Ricketson is an award-winning Poet, Licensed Professional Counselor, and Organic Blueberry Farmer. She believes everyone can live a happy and fulfilling life and uniquely combines her talent as a psychotherapist with her art as a poet to engage with people on a helpful level. Inspired by nature and her role as a mental health counselor, her poems reflect the healing powers of nature, a path she follows from Appalachian tradition, with the surrounding mountains as a midwife for her words.
Meghan Harrison is a writer and poet based in Sylva, North Carolina whose work engages themes of embodiment, womanhood and motherhood, faith deconstruction, and the complexity of human relationships. She holds an MA in English from Western Carolina University, where she completed her first full-length poetry manuscript, Worthy. You can find her on Instagram at meghanrose_writes.
