Poetry Tastes Like: The Thread Between Us

“Poetry Tastes Like” is a reading group series reimagining literature through a dialogue with taste, hosted by poet and artist Dina Lobo and beverage pop up WEINAK by Abdulkhaleq Jraidan. In each session, guests engage with curated poems that shape the drink menu.

On Thursday, August 6, we invite you to “Poetry Tastes Like: The Thread Between Us”, a hands-on exploration of the unbreakable threads that connect us to people, land, and purpose. Together, we’ll untangle, stretch, and even break the poetry surrounding fate and its many textures.

We’re excited to be collaborating with the Montreal Crochet & Knit Club, founded by Shosho Abotouk, for an evening that brings poetry and fiber arts into conversation.

As always, each guest will receive a personalized envelope containing all of the evening’s materials, and for this special session, all craft supplies are included. Drinks are non-alcoholic and included in the ticket price.

Doors open at 6:00 PM and close at 6:30 PM sharp. Please do not be late!

SKOL is located on the 4th floor (Espace 444) of the Belgo Building.

About our collaborators:

SKOL is a self-managed artist-run centre and a non-profit organizatio. The centre aims to support the creation, production and dissemination of contemporary art outside traditional commercial or institutional circuits.

The Montreal Crochet & Knit Club is the city’s largest fiber arts community, hosting social events and workshops for crocheters, knitters, and crafters of all skill levels since 2024. It was founded by Shosho Abotouk, a crocheter, comedian, and the creator and host of the Crochet & Comedy Show.
