We want to celebrate Brooke Lehmann on her book of poetry, Of Salt and Song. She will read and discuss the book during an in-store event at 2 pm, Sunday, January 18, 2026. Books are available through the store. We look forward to seeing you at this free event.
Synopsis:
Of Salt and Song, Brooke Lehmann’s debut poetry collection, offers a powerful and intimate journey of survival through the landscape of her harmful religious upbringing. Framed through the lens of the biblical story of Lot’s wife, Of Salt and Song employs persona poems to reimagine this familiar narrative, subverting traditional patriarchal themes of abuse and divine punishment. The book explores the resilience of the human spirit through compassion, empowerment, and sensuality, ultimately finding freedom for both the speaker and her readers.
