About this Event
Join us to celebrate Moki Ruminski’s term as Milwaukee Emerging Poet Fellow in the Practice category! Moki will share writing developed over the past several months with mentoring poet Chuck Stebelton.
is a photographer and poet whose work traces silent reveries and the shifting intersections of city and earth. He photographs and writes about the struggle and gratitude of noticing deeper textures in the surfaces of an ordinary day, grounded by his bachelor’s degree in Conservation and Environmental Science from UW–Milwaukee.
Moki runs his small independent press Rockhound Press, publishing hiss against the grain (forthcoming) and when the young people climb (2023). His work appears in Reconstitution / Viriditas (WYRD Magazine, issues 10 & 11, 2025) and the Poetry Month Anthology (Wisconsin Arts Board, 2025).
After finishing building his home, he’s returning to the rhythm of what might be called ‘normal life,’ or whatever comes close.
Chuck Stebelton is author of (Green Gallery Press, 2023). Easterly is forthcoming from The Year. His previous poetry collections include An Apostle Island (Oxeye Press, 2021), (Cultural Society, 2012), and Circulation Flowers (Tougher Disguises, 2005).
