Poetry Reading at The Lescar

Join us for a gorgeous evening of poetry at The Lescar, with readings from featured poets Ken Evans, David Van-Cauter and Charlotte Lunn. There is also an open mic with limited slots which is sign up on the night. You'll also be able to buy signed copies of the poets' books on the night.

About the Poets
Charlotte Lunn is a queer, disabled poet. After completing her creative writing degree, she became a bookseller and events coordinator at Scarthin Books. She has been a guest poetry facilitator with Derbyshire Writing School and offers editing and mentoring services. She has been commissioned to write for Shottle Hall, Derwent Valley Mills, Disability Direct, Beam Uk and Chesterfield Borough Council. Her debut collection 'Metamorphosis' was published in 2021 with Verve Poetry Press. Charlotte is currently undergoing her masters in writing poetry and working on her second collection.
David Van-Cauter moved to Sheffield this year. He has two pamphlets with Arenig Press: Mirror Lake (2019) and Breathing (2025). His film-poem "Breath" recently won Best Overall Short at the 2026 Bloomsday Film Festival in Dublin.
Ken Evan's Salt Collection, 'A Full on Basso Profundo' was published in 2025. He has won the Kent and sussex, Leeds Peace and Creative Manchester prizes, and was runner up in the Daily Telegraph poetry competition 2026. Ken's poems appear in Mag,a, Acumen, Orbis, Poetry Scotland and Under the Radar. Contributions to ntholgies include Broken Sleep's Masculinity anthology and Write Out Loud's 20th anniversary edition.
