About the poets…
Craig Chalmers: That’s That One (Edinburgh Fringe Preview)
Poems. He’ll start with one, then do another, and another, and another. It’ll go on like this to the end, then you can leave (assuming you arrived). Ten years since his Edinburgh Fringe debut, Hammer & Tongue 2021 grand finalist Craig is back: planning another ‘bizarre, abstract and hilarious one man show’ (Ben Huxley) and more ‘heartfelt, tender prose’ (ThreeWeeks), just the way you like it. Short, funny and a wee bit sad, he promises some 60 poems in 50 minutes. So, if you’re bored, just give it a sec. Ta. That’s that one.
Craig is a performance poet hailing from Bournemouth and living in Winchester, most notably making the grand final of Hammer & Tongue at Royal Albert Hall in 2021, and in 2023, delivering a brand new workshop for ArtfulScribe & SIAH’s Creative Writers Against Coastal Waste project. More recently, he has been involved with ZoieLogic’s The Big Movement and continues to be spotted on stages Hampshire-wide, but mostly at The Railway, taking charge of Poetry Platform when SM Ripper needs a well-deserved rest.

SM Ripper’s Random Poetry Experience
The Railway’s patron saint of tomfoolery returns with his most chaotic show yet; pick a card, roll the dice, pull this chord, who knows where it’ll end? Certainly not the performer. Bright, bizarre and beautiful, SM Ripper’s poetry games have begun. Will your Fridays ever be the same again?
SM Ripper is a writer and show host, a renegade poet from a town called Ware. The bard of The Railway, the patron saint of Shirley, you may have seen him performing in all manner of salubrious bars and unusual locations, or perhaps just hanging off the chandelier with a can of Thatchers. The chief host of Poetry Platform, SM writes from the heart and shoots from the hip, bold, dazzling and obscure. He plumbs the depths of depravity and the heights of joy and mixes it up into one delicious hotchpot patchwork euphoria of a show. Pow.
Anita Foxall
Anita Foxall is a Southampton-based poet and performer. She is the host of the popular spoken word open mic Write a Note, the poetry editor for the online publication In Common, and performs as the poet for Anita & the Hounds (poetry and music). Her debut poetry collection, Shapes and Forms from Outer Space, was published in May 2023.
