Poetry Open Mic featuring Julie Paul Julie Paul is the author of three short fiction collections, 'The Jealousy Bone', 'The Pull of the Moon', and 'Meteorites', as well as two poetry collections, 'The Rules of the Kingdom' and 'Whiny Baby', both published with McGill-Queen's University Press. She lives in View Royal, on the unceded territories of the Esquimalt and Songhees Nations.
'The Pull of the Moon' won the Victoria Butler Book Prize, and 'The Rules of the Kingdom' was a finalist for both the Dorothy Livesay Poetry Prize and the Gerald Lampert Memorial Award. She's won the Edna Staebler Personal Essay Award from The New Quarterly and The Rusty Toque’s short fiction Chapbook Award. Work has appeared in literary journals and anthologies across North America and has been shortlisted for many awards, including the CBC Fiction contest and ReLit Award.
Julie has served on the fiction board of The Malahat Review, was co-artistic director of the Victoria Writers Festival (2012-14) and is a strong supporter of the literary community in Canada.
