January’s optional prompt invites you to write about Resolution—the turning point at the edge of the calendar, when intention feels possible again, and the future hasn’t hardened yet. Write into what you’re choosing, releasing, or daring to begin: a habit taking root, a belief loosening its grip, a quieter promise made just for yourself. Explore the space between who you’ve been and who you’re becoming, and the grace it takes to start without certainty. This is a place for clarity over perfection, hope over pressure, and forward motion that feels honest, human, and still unfolding.

Doors open at 6:45 PM, sign-ups will be open on a first-come, first-served basis for all aspiring poets, and poetry readings will commence at 7:00 pm. Whether you’re a polished poet or just starting, we invite you to share your original creations or classic favorites. If performing isn’t your thing, no problem! Come along, enjoy the performances, and cheer on the poets. Let’s make it a night to remember with great words and even greater company!
