Welcome to the Open Mic at Glasgow Zine Library! Join us for a night of creativity and expression in the heart of Glasgow's Southside.

Whether you're a seasoned performer or trying out the mic for the first time, this event is the perfect opportunity to share your voice and connect with fellow artists. Come along to Glasgow Zine Library and be a part of a supportive and inclusive space where all forms of art are welcomed. Don't miss out on this chance to showcase your talent and be inspired by others.

I want to perform, how can I sign up?

You can sign up in advance through this Google form: https://forms.gle/Xi8jLZHW7hWU6AVA7

There will be a signup sheet available on the day of. Please only sign up for one time slot if you do so in advance. You may sign up for a second slot on the day of, as time allows. we do not limit or curate our list of poets, so if you fill out the form, you're on the list for reading that day!

You do not need to fill in the form if you would just like to attend and not perform.

Each person gets 5-minutes maximum or 3 poems, whichever is shortest. Host will queue performers when they have one minute remaining.

Event runs from 6:30p to 8:00p. If there’s a full sheet, there will be a 15 to 20 minute break in the middle.

BYOB. Tea and small snacks available at venue.

We want to make sure our Library and programme are as accessible as possible to all. For that reason, event capacity is limited to 20. We will limit open mic to 15 performers so that we can maintain a maximum 90 minute runtime with a 15 minute intermission as needed.


About the Community Led Programme:

The Community Led Programme at Glasgow Zine Library is made up of events and groups run by and for members of our local community. These events are volunteer-run and free to attend. Find out more here: glasgowzinelibrary.com/community-led-leaders


Ticket information for this event:

This event is suitable for ages 18+. There will be 20 attendees maximum, and the event will feature comfort breaks. During this event, participants will be involved in: reading, listening whole group discussions, eating/drinking.

This event will take place at the GZL space on Albert Road in Govanhill. You can find directions here.

You may be asked to wear a mask at this event.GZL provides hand sanitizer and KN95 masks for participants. If you would like to attend and request that all other participants wear masks, you can either ask our staff member on the day or email us ahead of time at [email protected] and we will ask all who are able to mask to do so. Additionally, we have an air purifier with HEPA filters in the library.

GZL pledges to support The Palestinian Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel. As part of this pledge we may participate in strikes called in response to the ongoing genocide in Palestine. If this event falls on a strike day and is cancelled, we will work with event leaders to reschedule the event ASAP. Participants will also have the option of receiving an immediate refund for any ticket purchases and travel booked to attend.

After booking a ticket, you will be sent several reminder emails from Eventbrite leading up to the event. We will also send emails that share any resources that attendees will need access to, including any required materials.
