The moon rises and falls, waxes and wanes. Each season has its qualities ... abundance, decline, dormancy, and renewal. This collection of poetry, titled "The Moon and All Her Faces," by Josephine LoRe honours and celebrates the variations and mutations. A tribute to nature and to relationships, this collection chronicles the journey of growth and transition, darkness and light. As it takes a community to create a poet, Josephine has invited some of her mentors, colleagues and friends to share in the readings. She has also invited singer-songwriter Sonia Deleo to feast our ears with music. Guest poets: Weyman Chan, Telmo dos Santos, Vivian Hansen, Nash Lott, Patti Lott, & Stuart McKay.

ABOUT THE GUESTS
Telmo dos Santos is a Calgary poet whose work blends themes of family, justice, and memory. His poems have been published in Guest, Poetic Portraits of People, and the anthology Pandemic Poems, and he released a chapbook, "I Wish We Had More Time," in 2022. He has studied with writers at the Humber School for Writers, the Banff Centre, and most recently as part of a weekly group with Richard Harrison.
Nash Lott is a retired artist blacksmith; his work includes a collaborative sculpture at the U of C. Social issues, mental health and nonhuman animals inform his poetry. Autism intensifies his relationship with the sounds and textures of language. He’s been published in The New Quarterly and was longlisted for the 2025 Nick Blatchford Occasional Verse Contest.
Patti Lott is a retired rancher and therapist. She lives in the foothills of southern Alberta with her poet husband, Nash, and numerous other wild animals. Patti has poems upcoming in Prairie Fire and CV2 magazines. She is the winner of Alberta Views magazine’s 2025 short fiction contest.
Vivian Hansen has published five books of poetry, including "A Tincture of Sunlight," and "A Bitter Mood of Clouds" (Frontenac House). She teaches with the creative writing certificate program at the University of Calgary. She comes tonight to bless Josephine LoRe.
Stuart Ian McKay is a Calgary/Edmonton based poet. His poetry and non-fiction have been published in many Canadian journals and anthologies. "the commune of our waking," Stuart's fourth book of poetry, was published by AOS Publishing of Montreal in 2023. In January 2021, Stuart was Writer in Residence at the Wallace Stegner House in Eastend, Saskatchewan. Stuart is on the poetry editorial collective of filling station. He serves on the Board of Directors for the League of Canadian Poets.
Recipient of the 2021 Writer's Trust Latner-Griffin Poetry Prize, Weyman Chan lives and works in Calgary. His second book of poetry, "Noise From the Laundry," was a finalist for the 2008 Governor General’s Award. His sixth book of poetry, "Witness Back At Me: mismothering and transmigration poems," was published by Talonbooks in 2022. A member of the poetry collective at fillingStation, Calgary’s experimental literary magazine, he’s a settler of Treaty 7 territory in Mohkinstsis (Calgary), Alberta.
