Poetry In The Gallery

Join us in the gallery for an evening of live poetry and spoken word with Speak Out Scunny — Scunthorpe’s lively spoken‑word and open mic night celebrating voices from across the region.

This special programme features six poets and spoken‑word artists responding to the work of Jenny Holzer — one of the most influential contemporary conceptual artists working with language as art. Holzer is renowned internationally for her bold use of text in public space — from flashing LED signs to billboards and projections — challenging audiences to think about power, identity and the words we live with every day.

The event will take place right in the middle of the ARTIST ROOM Jenny Holzer exhibition.

ARTIST ROOMS brings international artists to UK audiences through solo exhibitions drawn from a national touring collection jointly owned by Tate and the National Galleries of Scotland.
