Why Dialogue Matters to Us
What is our role as poets in a world trembling on the edge of revolution?
When does word become world?
When does language serve as a bridge – and when does it become a barricade?
How does language function as a system of violence? Of hope?
What is the purpose of a poem?
A poem is always political, because language itself is built from history, from struggle, from breath shaped by systems that either cage or liberate.
To write is to choose – to witness, to resist, to create, to remember.
If art reflects life, then what is our mission as witnesses?
What is the responsibility of testimony?
If silence is complicity, then poetry must be a breach in the silence.
If the personal is political, then every poem is an act of revolt, an insurrection of meaning against forgetting.
On April 11th, we invite you to think in dialogue if word can be both bread and the bullet. Art is always a dialogue between many truths.
What is yours?
Poetry in Dialogue is an open door to all who wish to explore a simple question: Why are you a poet?
Throughout the evening, listen carefully. Our challenge as artists is not only to speak but to hear – to find more questions than answers, to trace the voices that history has tried to erase, and to listen to the winds of words trying to reach us from past, present, and future.
Poetry is movement. Poetry is fire. Poetry is the wind carrying the voices of the past into the lungs of the future.
What will you do with yours?
