Saba Alizadeh – Experimental / Electronic / Contemporary
Born and raised in Tehran , Saba Alizadeh is an unparalleled figure at the forefront of contemporary Iranian music. Saba is deeply rooted in Iranian classical music and a virtuoso on Kamancheh, while at the same time he is curious about the notion of tradition which is the reason that makes him a multi talented forward thinking composer/performer.
Saba began expanding his musical cosmos utilizing different instruments and methods of composing. Apart from Kamancheh (his main instrument), no-input mixer, modular synthesizer and laptop have been themain instruments that Alizadeh has created his sonic cosmos with. He also uses a lot of manipulated historic audio recordings and field recordings in a musique concrete fashion. Treating sound as an object has always been Alizadeh’s fascination.
“Alizadeh’s level of control of both the traditional and technological aspects of his music is clear from the outset. What results is a beautifully fragmented exploration of internal space, which often wanders between the contemplative and the neurotic” Charlie Cawood, Songlines

Liew Niyomkarn – Lap steel guitar / Classical / Experimental
Liew Niyomkarn is a sound artist and composer with a background in experimental sound practice and performance. Her work primarily explores layers of sound, repetition of notes, harmonic spectra, and resonances achieved through acoustic instruments such as zither, lyre, and Supercollider, a coding language employed to craft various tuning systems. She integrates field recordings to capture the essence of time and narration of the space, These elements are amalgamated with her sonic palette and the intrinsic properties of sound, such as polyphonic characteristics, slow and nostalgic, and the manipulation of extended decays and harmonics. She presents her work through live performances and sound installations in numerous places such as QO-2, Bozar, Cafe Oto, Rewire Festival, Sonic Acts, and many more.
“The sounds combine to create a boundary-free transfer of sound and emotion in their most primal forms, where the listener can plot a course through their own sonic and psychic hinterlands”, The Quietus
