Poetree - An evening of shared poetry

There's a particular kind of magic in hearing someone read a poem that has lived in their heart for years — the way their voice changes, the pause before the line that matters most, the story behind why these words found them at the right moment. That's what we seek to create together.
Join Dashuo and Zubia for an evening where poetry sparks conversation, connection, and reflection. Bring one poem that has genuinely moved you, inspired you, torn your heart apart, or blown your mind wide open.
Whether it's Rumi or Audre Lorde, a poem in your mother tongue, a quote by an anonymous writer that stayed with you for years, the lyrics of a song from a special moment – we look forward to hearing it. Bring it printed, handwritten, or carried in memory.
We'll go around, read aloud, sit with what we've heard, and talk. Over tea and snacks, in the slow hours of the evening, we aim to create a small pocket of time to get inspired, challenged, or find a shift in perspective.
We love the imagery behind the word Poetree—a gathering where poems branch out into conversations, connections, and shared stories, celebrating growth, blossoming, and life itself.
*Note:* This event is a little different from the Writing Club hosted by Max. There, you bring your own texts to receive feedback and discussion. On our Poetree evenings, we bring poems written by others and allow them to inspire us, challenge us, and spark conversation.
Doors open 18.30
We start at 19.00 and go until 20.30.
We start on the 25th of June and we aim to make it a bi-weekly event going forward.
