THE HAUNTED HISTORY OF POASTTOWN
ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Poasttown Elementary School opened in 1937 and served the surrounding community for more than sixty years before closing in 2000. For generations, the building was a place of learning, discipline, and comfort for the students and educators who spent their days here.
Why Poasttown is haunted remains unknown.
What many investigators believe, however, is that spirits often return to places where they felt happiest, safest, or most connected. For many children and teachers, Poasttown may have been exactly that.
But the history surrounding the property extends beyond the school itself.
Behind the building lies land marked by tragedy. Two separate train accidents occurred nearby, both resulting in fatalities. With no hospitals close to the area at the time, the land behind the school was used as a makeshift triage site where the injured and dying were brought after the accidents.
Additionally, nearby gravel pits have claimed lives over the years, and water, often believed to amplify paranormal energy, runs through the history of this location.

Our Poasttown events are public paranormal investigations, not guided tours or scripted experiences.
Each event typically includes:
• A welcome and safety introduction from the Eerie Excursions investigation team
• A guided flashlight tour explaining the building’s history and paranormal hotspots
• Free-roam investigation time allowing guests to explore at their own pace
During the investigation portion of the night, guests are free to investigate quietly, conduct active sessions, or observe the environment as activity unfolds.
