Join us for a special double-screening event celebrating Plymouth’s rich filmmaking heritage and the remarkable legacy of Jill Craigie, including 'Independent Miss Craigie', a feature film by Lizzie Thynne, about one of the first women documentary-makers in the UK, who made daring and innovative films campaigning for a better Britain in the wake of World War Two. Her female characters reflect her own struggles as a young woman for more freedom, recognition and opportunities. PLUS 'Can I Be Me?', a short film, sparked by Craigie's life and work, where young Plymothian women reflect on their lives in the city, by the participatory collective, Imperfect Cinema, with local school students.
Q and A with Imperfect Cinema, writer and poet Rachel Gippetti and film-maker Lizzie Thynne.
