Plein Air Watercolor with Claire Edmo
June 14, July 26, August 23 (12 MAX)
Join artist Claire Edmo (Shosone Bannock) for a series of immersive plein air painting classes inspired by landscape, memory, and place.
Raised on the Fort Hall Indian Reservation in southeastern Idaho, Claire brings her Shoshone-Bannock and Chippewa Cree heritage into her artistic practice. In these outdoor sessions, participants will explore how landscape can hold story, memory, and emotion.
Working directly from the natural environment, students will learn:
Foundations of plein air painting
Observing light, color, and atmosphere
Translating landscape into expressive imagery
Incorporating personal narrative into visual work
Claire’s work often reflects mountainous terrain, plant life, and the nostalgia of childhood memory. Participants are encouraged to reflect on their own connection to land and place while developing technical painting skills in a supportive environment.
All skill levels welcome.
Cost is $35 for Members, $45 for non-members. We will have limited number of kits to borrow.
