Plein Air Paint Out

Love painting outdoors? This is your chance to capture nature’s beauty in real time. Bring your brushes, easel, and creative vibes for a fun, relaxed day of in-person painting sessions surrounded by inspiring scenery. Whether you’re a pro or just love dabbling, come hang out, share tips, and let your imagination run wild. Don’t miss the chance to paint fresh and make new artsy friends!

8am-2pm Painters will be set up all around downtown to capture the scenes of the day

2pm- completed works must be brought to the HIVE on 2nd street and will remain on display and available for purchase until 6pm.

Info: Paint Out Schedule:
8:00 - 9:00 AM
• Check-in at the information table in front of the Adams County Courthouse on 2nd Street in downtown Decatur.
• Have your canvas stamped by a “Paint Out” representative. Only stamped work completed on Saturday will be judged.
• Artists must provide their own canvas.
• NO SALES ARE PERMITTED UNTIL AFTER JUDGING

2:00 - 2:30 PM
• Return to The Hive building (118 N. 2nd Street) to submit your paintings for judging. After judging, art must be displayed in The HIVE until 6:00 p.m. Artwork sold while on display must also remain on display until 6:00 p.m. Artists are encouraged to be present at the public viewing to interact with visitors.

6:00 PM
• Artists may pick up their unsold art. The Decatur Sculpture Tour will retain 25 percent of sale proceeds, so please price your paintings accordingly and within your current pricing structure.
