Plazadrome presents DER FAN (1982) + Fun City Pop-Up Blu-ray shop

Plazadrome presents Eckhart Schmidt’s 1982 psychological thriller DER FAN and Fun City Editions Blu-ray pop-up shop- Thursday, November 19th, 9pm at The Plaza Theatre.
Schedule:
8pm- FUN CITY EDITIONS Blu-ray pop-up shop in the lobby of The Plaza Theatre
9pm- DER FAN screening with and introduction by Millie De Chirico
A shocking portrait of celebrity obsession, DER FAN is the story of teenage runaway Simone, whose fixation on New Wave pop star "R" consumes her entirely. This tense slow-burn cult psychological thriller, paced by a sublime synth-pop soundtrack from German New Wave band Rheingold and a striking visual style, lands somewhere between CHRISTIANE F. and POSSESSION. DER FAN builds and builds to an unforgettable final sequence that you won’t want to miss on the big screen.
Der Fan has been restored in 4K from its original 35mm camera negative by Fun City Editions. The film is presented with its original stereo soundtrack for the first time since its initial German theatrical release in 1982.
