When you think of Mead, do you immediately think of that sickly sweet liqueur that was brought home from a holiday in Northumberland, but has sat in the back of the cupboard ever since? Mead doesn’t have to be that way!
Mead can be anything brewed with honey as its primary source of sugar, and everything after that is up to you. You could brew a Dry & Boozy Traditional Mead; bring down the abv for a Crispy Hydromel; add fruits to make a Viking Blood Melomel, or your choice of spices for a Christmas Metheglin – great for gifting.
Mead-making is one of the easiest ways to get into home-brewing, and a great way to preserve seasonal harvest, while supporting your local honey producers. Expect demonstrations, mead-tasting, lots of information and opportunities to ask questions so that you leave with confidence and knowledge to make your own mead at home!
