The SHIFT Foundation is proud to host a local Play for Peace® Community Walk for Peace, joining walkers in cities across the United States and communities around the world for a global day of walking, cooperative play, and shared purpose.
Our walk will take place in Radiance, home of our emerging Emanation at Genius City project, where we’ll gather as a community and walk together in support of children living in conflict zones around the world.
Founded in 1998, Play for Peace® uses the simple but powerful language of play to bring children and young people from divided communities together. Rather than competition, their programs use cooperative games to build empathy, trust, connection, and friendships across cultural and social divides. Over more than 27 years, Play for Peace has reached more than two million children in over 40 countries, while training local facilitators to continue this work within their own communities.
On September 19, we get to become part of that global effort right here at home.
The SHIFT Foundation believes that peace is something we practice, not simply something we hope for. Walking together is a simple act, but when communities around the world take that step on the same day, it becomes a powerful expression of our shared humanity and our responsibility to the generations coming behind us.
The event is free and open to everyone, and all ages and abilities are welcome. Donations are encouraged, with funds raised supporting Play for Peace® programs across Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and the Americas.
