About this Event

Play Date: Social is free and open to the public. Join local families for a two hour guided Trail Hunt through Grant Park's Seven Bridges Trail, followed by a beachside food experience with Monica Hidalgo of Eat Pretty Please, weather permitting.

Children will search for signs of fall, complete playful connection prompts, and explore seasonal ingredients through color, smell, texture, and optional tasting. Parents and caregivers participate alongside their children, help with the hunt, and have natural opportunities to meet one another.

EVENT TIMELINE

10:00 to 10:20 AM: Arrive, check in, and meet another family
10:20 AM: Welcome and trail safety notes
10:25 to 11:10 AM: Complete the Trail Hunt on the way to the beach
11:10 to 11:35 AM: Taste the Colors of Fall with Monica
11:35 AM to 12:00 PM: Return walk, final challenge, and goodbye

GOOD TO KNOW

Best for ages 4 to 10. Siblings are welcome. A parent or caregiver must stay with every child. This is not a drop off event.

The trail includes stairs, roots, and uneven ground. A baby carrier is recommended instead of a stroller for the main trail. Bring comfortable shoes, weather appropriate layers, water, and any snacks your family needs.

Tasting is optional and is not a full meal. The final recipe, ingredients, common allergens, and participation details will be shared before the event.

Milwaukee County Parks has approved the event. Monica's beach demonstration is planned for the beach, weather permitting. If beach conditions are unsafe, the Trail Hunt will continue and registered families will receive the updated food experience plan.

Every adult and child needs a free RSVP so we can plan safely. The exact meeting point, parking guidance, trail conditions, ingredients, and weather plan will be emailed to registered families.
