Let's experiment, play and practice sketching skills with your array of sketching supplies (excluding watercolors). Basic skills for all new & experienced members.
Using all the tools in your sketching kit, we will discuss, test and practice mark making and sketching techniques. Learn the qualities of the many varieties of drawing pencils, pens (fineliners to fountain & fude), brush markers, drawing/sketching & watercolor papers. What to use and when!
We will practice exercises, on different papers, to include shading, value, blending, textures and variety of strokes (hatching, stippling, scribbling, etc) both in pencil and pen. Specific (Tan, gray, black toned paper will be available.) Simplified rendering of brick, stone, siding, background foliage will be fun too!
**Your supplies should include all sizes of drawing pencils, wc & colored pencils, a variety of ink pens (all colors you have) & any brush markers. Drawing paper or sketchbooks of different paper weight, smoothness and color.
Watercolor, charcoal & pastel sketching will NOT be addressed. White gel pens will be available to purchase. Toned papers willl be available.
