Planting Through the Ages - Celebrate National Tree Week at Hartsdown Park Tree walk

Deep in the heart of North Thanet is the historical landscape, Hartsdown Park
This historic and highly prized open green space, that is often overlooked and under valued trees.
This National Tree Week, Thanet Urban Forest is taking a look at four of Thanet's historic parks through the theme Planting Through the Ages.
The trees we see today were planted by previous generations. Some are now mature trees providing significant environmental and social benefits, while others are approaching the later stages of their lives.
So what can we learn from the planting of the past?
And, perhaps more importantly, what should we be planting and protecting now for the generations that follow us?
Join Peter for a series of relaxed and informal tree walks through Dane Park, Hartsdown Park, Northdown Park and Ellington Park, exploring the trees, history and changing landscapes of these much-loved public parks.
You don't need to be a tree expert. Come along, have a walk, and have a good chat about trees.
