Grab a shovel and plant native trees and shrubs along a tributary of Silver Creek with NSEA as we restore this critical habitat for coho and chum salmon as well as steelhead and bull trout! Historically, Silver Creek has been used for agricultural, residential, and industrial purposes. Due to this heavy use, Silver Creek and its tributaries face many long-lasting environmental concerns including high bacterial levels and low levels of dissolved oxygen. Native plants, like the ones we will be putting in the ground at this event, help filter out water pollutants and keep our streams clean over time. As a tributary of the Nooksack River, the water quality of Silver Creek also impacts that of the Nooksack River and the Pacific salmon that call it home.
