Join the Erie Conservation District and City of Sandusky at the Mills Creek Golf Course on June 23rd to plant native species in the newly constructed Mills Creek Floodplain Enhancement Project! The project created 4 acres of new wetlands and stabilized 2,000 linear feet of streambank! These changes filter water before it enters the lake, provide additional flood capacity around the course, and prevent erosion. Help us reach our goal of planting over 10,000 flowers and grasses across the project to improve species diversity and nutrient absorption. See the details below to learn more!
Where: We will meet at the Erie County Juvenile Justice Center parking lot and walk to the worksite, located just under the train bridge at Mills Golf Course.
What to bring: Wear close-toed shoes that you don’t mind getting dirty and dress for the weather. Bring bug spray, sunscreen, a hat, work gloves, and water!
