Come one come all to our first annual Plant Trial Open House on Saturday June 27, 2026 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.!
This special event offers visitors the opportunity to learn about the garden’s plant evaluation program and participate in the selection process.
We are trialing varieties of annual and perennial plants from six plant breeding companies to see how they perform in our neck of the woods in East Tennessee. Come down to the McIlwaine Friendship Pavilion in the middle of the gardens to see trial coordinator Jennifer Northam for directions, walk around the trial gardens, and vote on your favorite annual and perennial varieties.
We would love to have input from our visitors, Master Gardeners, and green industry professionals.
Free ornamental plants for the first 30 participants!
