About this Event
Non-native plants often thrive in our ecosystems, but they can cause big problems. These species can they invade natural spaces, choking out beautiful native trees that wildlife need. Help us plant native plants on campus, providing food and shelter for native wildlife! This event is co-hosted by the McMaster Kinesiology Society and Nature at McMaster.

- Native trees and shrubs
Event Details:
- Date: Friday, April 10, 2026
- Time: 10:00 am to 12:00 pm
- Location: Meet at the Bertrand Russell Centre on Forsyth Avenue, just across the road from McMaster main campus.
Bring/Wear:
- Comfortable, closed-toe, durable shoes (mud proof if you have any)
- Long pants and long socks
- Ensure you wear clothing and shoes that you will not mind getting dirty
- Water bottles
- Sunscreen/Hat/Sunglasses
- Bug spray
Accessibility Notes:
- The nearest washrooms are at Mills Memorial Library or the McMaster University Student Centre.
- We will be working in muddy, uneven terrain.
- Planting trees may require kneeling on the ground. For those for whom this is challenging, we recommend pairing up with another event attendee and dividing roles based on ability (for example, one person digs holes and the other person plants the plants and fills in the holes).
- If you are unsure how to use any of the tools provided, please ask any Nature at McMaster staff in attendance and we would be happy to assist you.
- If you feel unwell at any point during the event, please inform a Nature at McMaster staff member immediately.
- If you have any accessibility questions or concerns, please let us know and we will be sure to address them to the best of our ability.
