Plant the Seeds of Health: Yoga with Alyson at Mahoney’s Winchester

Discover the lessons that nature provides in this “Thrive Like a Plant” yoga class series. All levels are welcome. This is a great class for beginners as well as experienced yogis interested in redefining their asanas.

Guided by Alyson, together we’ll explore how to be strong and resilient like plants through the lens of yoga. We’ll think like a plant and learn how to root our poses with stability, sense the similarity between a plant’s stem and our own spinal awareness, and uncover the likeness of a plant’s leaves to your hands. We’ll also reach for the sun and grow stronger through breathwork and warming poses such as Utkatasana (Mighty Powerful Pose).

Practiced in a FORM-style format, each class will highlight biomechanical movement through seated, standing, twisting, forward-bending, and side-bending postures.

Please bring your own mat and yoga props (blocks, strap, blanket) if you have them.
Some straps, blocks, and blankets will be available and encouraged for use.
